Done with May

May is a very busy month in our family.  Not only do both Jason and I have our birthdays in May but both of my parents, and his dad, have their birthdays in May too, in addition to 4 or 5 other close friends and family members. As much as I love the month of May I am happy to be through it

In addition to all the birthdays we have been doing a lot of wedding planning.  We finally set a date of October 18, 2008 and booked a location.  We are so excited that we were able to get the place that we wanted, Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township.

This is the room that both the
ceremony and the reception will be held

The outside patio and the view
from room where the ceremony
and reception will be held
We're still working out reception details but what we know so far is that the ceremony is going to be at 11:00 am followed by a brunch reception.  We are currently in the process of planning and booking our honeymoon which is going to be in Jamaica.  Plans are finally coming together and we are excited for the next few months as we continue to plan and see how everything turns out.

One more week

So Jason's almost done with his most difficult semester yet.  He's been going to school full time while working full time since August.  Although his Fall semester was busy his classes weren't nearly as difficult as his Spring semester has been.   He's had classes Tuesday-Saturday and had done very well balancing everything: classes, work (with his more time consuming promotion), church, and me.  He's definitely struggled through some classes and his test but in just 6 days he will be done!!  He's taking the summer off for a much deserved break as well as to help me plan the wedding (I don't know how much of a break that will be!! :)).  He's done a great job and this has for sure been a hard few months for both of us but we can't wait for the summer to start so we can relax a little and enjoy the next 5 months planning our wedding!!

In other news, the guys softball team did great again last night (winning both of their games by at least 10 runs).  And I toughed it out in the cold rain to cheer them on...I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.  Also, I bought a wedding dress (I won't be posting any pictures on here) and Jason and I are (hopefully) just two weeks from booking our reception hall.  As soon as that is official I WILL post pictures of that as well as finally announce the date!  Wish us luck, we are hoping everything works out with our date!

I guess we've been sucked in...

So I've never been much of a "blogger", just the idea of sitting and writing about my life for other people to read has never been very intriguing to me, however, due to other family and friends recently making blogs I've decided that maybe Jason and I should jump on the bandwagon.  Jason is not a big fan of any social websites (in fact, he hates anything that has to do with Myspace or Facebook) but we decided to go ahead and make this blog for us anyways.  Just a way to update anyone who may be interested in  the planning of our wedding and the start of our life together.

To begin, our first ever blog, I will just mention that Jason and I started church softball last night. His team did MUCH better than mine, winning both of their games by at least 10 points. I still played hard, for someone who had NEVER played softball before, and we are both extremely sore from it today.  I ran hard but didn't hit or throw (or catch for that matter) very well.  Jason did great, hit the ball every time he was up to bat and made some great outfield plays.  Unfortunately we're going to miss the next few weeks of games but hopefully it'll give our bodies some time to recover and we'll be ready to go for our next games in May.
